the let her run tactic does NOT work with big cats... they will go STRAIGHT for a log or rocks, wedge themselves, and you are stuck :) thats why I want to see Nic give it a try with his uber set up...will be funny as hell watching him try to bring in a tree :)

This is how close the creek is to our campsite. Kids are loving it.

ive just been invited to go fishing up at lake chamberlain this weekend.
ive never been there before.

any advice? bait? locations?
we wont have a boat so its shore fishing.

I've only fished off the boat. I've always used crawlers with botttom bouncers and have done very well. I haven't been up there since June, so not sure where the walleye are. If you don't have any luck near Chamberlain, I'd go up North to the dam. Theirs a pier below the dam on the west side by the bluffs and that should do well if wanting walleye. Lots of big cats in the fast water below the dam. They'll bite on anything. Just be carefull by the fast water. Go hammer them!

Walleye in all lakes for the last 2 weeks have moved up into the flats and weed beds, they are biting on anything that rattles and spinner rigs with leeches/crawlers.
