The drop off our guide took us to. Was a scary place. I was ready to get back to where I could see the bottom!

Thanks.

Wow I could write a bit about the trip. It was through school (USD). We flew into new zealand and stayed there for a couple days, flew to Sydney aus for 3 days and Cairns for 3 days.

New Zealand was green and pretty. They do have a lot of sheep. ..lol. the minimum wage is $13 something an hour but they pay for it. Things are really expensive. My $4 coffee here is $7-8 over there! Simple fridge magnets started at $5.50 each. Pop was 4.00 a 20oz. Rotoroua is a geothermal area with some water "puddles" reaching 800 degrees and it smells like sulfur (which sat on my clothes until we got home). To have the hotel do my laundry would have been easily $150. To wash a shirt is $8 and jeans were $12. Crazy! They have the Aussie accent there too. It's going into their winter season shortly. I had to wear pj pants under my jeans bc it was 60's with the wind blowing and we still did our excursions. Most of us got cold...lol. was a fun time. I have to go back to work now, but will write more later. If you think of anything specific, ask away.

New Zealand reminded me of some scenes from Jurassic Park. I could picture some dinosaurs coming out of these fern trees.

Living geothermal village. Some of these vents are soooo hot that if a person fell in, they are done!

I have some friends that are Maori. Beautiful area, and more than a bit jealous of them having all that amazing stuff and leaving south Dakota with what we have.
