Deleting topics

Postby Tat2demon » Sun Jan 15, 2012 8:42 pm

After some discussion it has been decided that unless a thread is deemed offensive or inflammatory or deemed inappropriate, topics will not be deleted.

There are two main reasons for this.

First, once a topic has been deleted it can not be recovered unless it was deleted shortly after a backup of the database was made. Even then, its quite a difficult process to restore a deleted topic from a backup.

Second, and most importantly, many topics have information that may be useful for others in the future. There is tons of advice given, weather directly or indirectly related to the original topic and it would be a shame to lose that advice and information.

With that being said, if you feel that you don't want a thread that you started to continue any longer, please contact any admin or moderator and we will be happy to lock the thread for you. If you really think there is a good reason for it to be deleted please contact us.
