Do you think that the BFH would be open to hosting again in the education room, or should we look for an alternative space?

butterfly house would be fine I just would like to see it'd be really big with a lot of enthusiasm and a lot more energy being put into it mirror what Fargo is doing

It's a lot of work, but the results are well worth it! There are hundreds of hours pumped into the event each year in Fargo by just a couple people to make it what it is. However we run it more as a trade show or vendor show than a true "frag swap". There is a reason it is done this way as swapping happens all the time on the forum. We tend to only fill tables with non-commercial sellers if we have some left and the event is really close. This is to make sure the vendors are not being undercut by private hobbiest sellers... I can say we had to turn vendors away this year as we only had so much room. Get a good balance of attendees to vendors and you will have a heck of a show! I can guarantee you would outgrow the education room at the BFH/MC quickly with a vendor show though :( I LOVE that location and wish Fargo had something like that (Hint Hint - open an aquarium here... PLEASE)

Be sure to keep me posted on the swap down there and I will help promote it on our page and social media. I can say everyone I have told to check out a SFAAS event or the BFH/MC has thoroughly enjoyed the trip and look forward to coming down again. Great people and great location make for one heck of a fun day (even if I come down broke and do nothing but geek out about fish stuff for a day)...

A swap would be awesome! I've gone to about 12 in the last year and Sioux Falls is by far my favorite.

No more swap guys. No one wants to put any efforts into it and nor can I be the only one when I have a store that all of you can go to. Some one else needs to take the lead here.

Wow this sounds very familiar to the first year of the Fargo Frag Swap which is why it took 2 years to get it off the ground... These events are very hard to plan with just a single person, but they are even harder to plan with a bunch of people. If it is going to be successful, find an organizer and they have executive control. Then ask for volunteers to assist with the day. It has worked so much better for me that way.

Everything is set for it, no fliers so not sure if it would be worth it. I've been too busy lately to keep going. We can still have it but I'm not going to haul stuff over there. To have just myself. I'm sure Dave from Operation Tidal Wave would come but who else? Can always have a pizza party to I guess...

If you want to get this rolling, I tossed together a quick poster... I just need the times and can finalize it. I don't have much for the Freshwater side, but I figured there may be freshwater stuff there too...

I'm down for it. It would be on the way back from Illinois in the afternoon. I'd have a 220 gallon tank in the back of my truck.

April 11 won't work for me, but if you can make it work I'd say go for it. If you need any assistance or want me to modify the poster I made, I can do that for you.
