Bad news

Postby shifty51008 » Tue May 16, 2017 7:26 pm

Lost power to the house for a few days and basicly lost everything except my pair of ocys and 3 baby cardinals, all corals gone. Talk about heart beaking. Not time to clean the main tank as it stinks to high heaven and slowly start to get things back under control.

Keep in mind all get a generator even if a small one to power the main stuff. Had a leather that was 10" accross, a few sps, lps, and 6 rbta's, my heart sank but was glad i could save a little. They may be fish and corals to some but family to us.

Just wanted to give others a heads up on getting a small generator, even if you dont use it alot it always help to have on hand.

well I got the new tank up and running, the surviving fish are doing great. gonna give it a few weeks for the water chemicals to get stabilized before adding any corals though. so if any of you would still be willing to help me out getting some stuff back in my tank I would still be greatful. hopefully I will be able to help any of you out later on to pay back the kindness. on the bright side that was one way to solve my shroom infestation, just wish it didn't have to be this way.

here is a crappy pic of the tank as of now though.

Hey! Glad to see your back in! Is it just me or does your top rock look like it has some algae? And you are more than welcome to my tank for corals!

Hard to leave this hobby lol. The top rocks are what i was able to save to put in a small 20 gal tank along with the surviving fish, the bottom rock we washed the heck out of it which is why it is pretty white.

Thanks for the offer on the corals also.
