Java fern advice

Postby Korrine » Fri Aug 15, 2014 11:09 pm

I discovered my daughter's little freshwater planted tank was leaking tonight. I carefully uprooted the java fern and placed it in a 10g holding tank.

How long can the roots be out of the planted "dirt"? Is it ok for a bit as long they're still in water?

Thanks

Forever they really only use the roots to hold them in place they have a rysone that isn't supposed to be barried that's why they do well attached to driftwood and things

Ok great. Wanted to make sure I wasn't going to kill them. This is my first planted tank ever so I have very limited experience with plants.

Thank you.

I think I'm just going to upgrade it to a 10g. Need a new filter to fit and a new light.
