Resealing a tank

Postby Jrphotography » Sat Jun 04, 2016 8:34 am

I have a 44 gallon corner unit I bought from Pet Safari years ago. I went to clean it the other night and low and behold a wet floor. I don't know much about redoing the seam of the glass and my luck the little leak will turn into a bigger leak. Does anyone know of anyone who does this kind of stuff? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

No one I know professionally repairs tanks but it's easy to DIY.

My old man has the exact tank and the same thing happened about 6 months ago. He took fish & everything out and re-caulked it successfully. You just need to completely remove the old caulk from the bad seam and let it dry for a full day before getting it wet.
Aquarium safe silicone is highly recommended too. It won't "yellow" like regular silicone will.
