Elos Tanks, worth it?

Postby KJoFan » Sun Aug 31, 2014 4:01 pm

Anyone have an Elos tank? Are they worth the price/hype? And if you had the opportunity to buy a used one would you? That's assuming you say, yes they are worth it. :)

Thought and opinions? Go.

Never had one. They look cool as hell but are very, very expensive.
If I could find a used one in the 40-100 gallon range, I'd be all over it.
Get one and let us know if its worth it :)

Well I have my eye on a used one, but it would still be quite expensive. I'd have to sell my current setup to even begin thinking about it. Anyone in the market for a used Oceanic Tech 120? :D

Elos is an Italian brand of aquarium. Basically a "luxury" tank. High quality, good craftsmanship, starfire glass, etc etc. Of course, price also reflects the high quality.

Or, so they say. That was my point, is the quality really that superior to warrant the price, or is it just name/brand chasing.

Are you looking at the elos 160 of gatorbait's? I saw Crhis Krien's 160 and it was a beautiful tank. I don't know how good the stock skimmer and ATO are.

That's the one. I don't think his has the stock skimmer or ATO. I'd use my own equipment anyway likely. I just am having a hard time justifying the cost. In your opinion, is it worth it? You've seen one in person.
